What medical conditions can disqualify a surrogate mother?

In this video, our partnered reproductive endocrinologist lists some of the conditions that can disqualify a woman from becoming a surrogate mother during the screening process. There are multiple conditions that can disqualify them, ranging from major diseases like cancer, but also much less severe conditions such as diabetes or a history of high blood pressure that has not been controlled. The doctors will observe the medical history of the prospective surrogate mother to make sure her health is in appropriate conditions before moving forward with any commitment and transfer procedure.
